This is a fired clay axe. Not just a first of its kind, but it has a story.
Found in the same natural pure blue clay it was fired in. This is the earliest example of a weapon poured into a mold, and fired.
This specific specimen’s condition is another first. This axe was found in the same clay it was manufactured with, with the exception of one corner that was the only part protruding the clay and impacted by the elements.
This piece is very important!
